Creative processes can serve many functions within therapy. They can support emotional awareness, increase self-reflection, promote regulation, reduce stress, facilitate insight, and create opportunities for meaning-making. Because of this flexibility, creative interventions can be incorporated across a wide range of populations, treatment goals, and stages of therapy.

This training combines experiential learning with practical clinical application. Participants engage in a brief art-based directive firsthand, reflect on the experience as practitioners, and explore ways creative processing can be thoughtfully and ethically integrated into clinical work.

Participants will:

• Experience an art-based directive firsthand
• Explore evidence-based benefits of creative processing
• Learn practical ways to incorporate art-based reflection into therapy
• Understand the distinction between art therapy and art in therapy
• Leave with a ready-to-use directive and reflection questions for future client work

No artistic experience is required.

A copy of the SEEN journal is included in the price of the workshop.
